Responsibilities

What You'll do

As a Search Analyst you will focus on optimizing and improving the user experience and performance of our on-site search functionality. This role involves analyzing user search behavior, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance product discoverability, relevance, and overall site navigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and experience working with site search data, user behavior, and e-commerce platforms.

  • Optimize On-Site Search Functionality: Analyze and improve on-site search engine performance to ensure relevant, accurate search results for users.
  • Search Query Analysis: Review and analyze search query data to identify common patterns, trends, and opportunities to enhance the search experience, including identifying missing products or incorrect results.
  • Improve Search Relevance: Implement changes to search algorithms, ranking criteria, and filters to improve the accuracy and relevance of search results.
  • Analyze User Behavior: Utilize tools like Google Analytics, search logs, and heatmaps to analyze how users interact with search features and identify potential friction points in their journey.
  • Search Data Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as search abandonment, conversion rates from search, and click-through rates (CTR) for different search queries.
  • Content and Metadata Optimization: Work with the content team to ensure product metadata (titles, descriptions, tags) is optimized to improve search accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, merchandising, and UX/UI teams to ensure seamless integration of search functionality and user-friendly search experience.
  • Manage Search Filters: Optimize and maintain the search filters and sorting options to improve user navigation and product discovery.
  • Search Personalization: Implement strategies for personalized search results based on user preferences, behavior, and past interactions.
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues related to on-site search, such as missing products, irrelevant results, or technical glitches.
  • Take ownership of challenging assignments and have the autonomy to implement innovative solutions.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and making a tangible difference.
  • Act as a trusted internal partner across departments to collaborate on initiatives projecting positive business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teams to leverage collective expertise to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional results.
  • Work on high-visibility initiatives that allow you to showcase your skills and expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

Essential Qualities for Success

  • At least 2 years of on-site search analytics experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Ecommerce, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficient in search tools like Constructor or similar technologies.
  • Skilled in user behavior analytics tools (e.g., Hotjar, Quantum Metrics).
  • Familiar with:
    • SEO techniques.
    • AI-powered search solutions and machine learning applications.
    • Personalization strategies to enhance user experience.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles as they relate to search functionality.
  • Competent in SQL for search logs and databases.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Solution-oriented mindset for addressing challenges proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and present findings.
  • Active and constructive participation in decision-making processes.
  • Proven ability to adapt to new environments, challenges, and evolving priorities.
  • Proactive approach to learning and taking on new responsibilities.
  • Experienced in managing complex projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $66,150 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
